Ruby/ Horsethief Canyons
Similar to our Labyrinth Canyon trip on the Green River, you'll paddle your own recreational or sea kayak through this calm water section of the Colorado River. Your guide will teach you the basics of proper paddling techniques and 'reading' river currents, so there is no prior experience required. We bring along a larger raft to carry the heavy stuff so camp will be comfortable, along with a guide in a kayak to help out the paddlers. We love this trip since the river access offers us the chance to give you a couple options with this itinerary, so check below to see what you'd like to do. Or call us at 800-733-6007 to chat about your options.
- Either the three day or the four day trip options are perfect for a family re-union, wedding reception or any other group activity. If you have a group of six or more please contact us and we can work out the details of cost and dates for you.

Three Days/Two Nights - Ruby/Horsethief Canyons
We begin at the Loma put-in and paddle down about 12 miles through Horsethief Canyon to our first night camp. This river section is characterized by calm water and towering sandstone canyon walls. There will be time to float downstream taking pictures or chatting with your experienced guides about the local flora, fauna and fascinating geology of the area. We spend two nights out on this trip and will finish up at the Westwater Ranger Station the afternoon of our third day.
Four Days/Three Nights - Ruby/Horsethief & Westwater Canyons
This is the trip for those who love both the quiet of calm water and the excitement of whitewater. We'll run our same three day trip as above, but on the third night we'll camp at the Westwater Ranger Station and the next morning we'll exchange our solo kayaks for a raft to run the rapids of Westwater Canyon. The inner gorge of Westwater has 12 super fun Class III+ rapids with names like Funnel Falls, Skull, Sock-It-To-Me, Last Chance. You can choose between an oar boat where the guide will row you through the rapids, or a paddle boat where you get direction from the guide at the back of the boat while you paddle. We'll finish up at the Cisco boat ramp and get back to Moab at approximately 5:30pm.
